Jobs
We build the world's best chips and racks for training and serving large language models. Our work spans the entire range from silicon and rack design, through compilers and kernels, to ML models.
We believe, more than any other AI chip company, that low precision compute performance is the most important aspect of chip design.
Consider new approaches
We're solving a different problem than previous products, so our solutions will often be different. We readily abandon traditional approaches when there's a better path in our context.
Understand deeply
We carefully reason through consequences of big decisions. A few days of thinking can be worth more than weeks of simulation. This is how we make big bets with high confidence.
Invite and include
We're a high-trust team who supports each other. We take contributions seriously and make sure good ideas are heard, even when they mean major shifts in direction.
Ship quality work
Whether in hardware, software, or ML, we value readable, resource-efficient code and solutions to real technical problems. We're interested in all experience levels.
Everyone on the MatX team is exceptional. Our new grads have strong training and learn quickly. Our veterans have built ML chips, compilers, and models across the industry. Several of us have built a chip with 30 people where other companies might take 300.

Do you sponsor green cards?
Once you're eligible, we're happy to support and start the process.
Do you sponsor visas?

Can I reapply if I'm not selected?
We appreciate your enthusiasm for MatX. If things don't align this time, we encourage you to reapply after six months.
Do you have a formal internship program?
Yes. We hire a small number of interns each summer, and occasionally at other times of year. Open intern roles appear under Open positions above.
Do you hire remote employees?
Yes, for many roles! Certain roles that require onsite are annotated inside the job listing. Most of the team works in person three days a week at our Mountain View headquarters, and remote employees should expect to visit regularly. We will soon be opening a San Francisco office and we're exploring other locations where employees are concentrated as well.
